You can give a class access to more than one subject by opening Classes in Admin Hub, selecting the class, and using Add Course. This is handy for combined or advanced classes that need to work across two subjects at once.
Tip: You can only add subjects your school is already subscribed to. If the subject you need isn't in the list, your school hasn't subscribed to it yet.
Before you start
This only works once your school's classes for the year have already been set up and are showing on the Classes page in Admin Hub. If you can't see your classes there yet, your initial class setup for the year hasn't been finished.
Adding an extra subject to a class
- Log in to Admin Hub and click Classes in the left-hand menu.
- On the Classes page, find the class you want to update in the Class access table.
- Tick the checkbox next to that class.
- Click Add Course, which appears above the table once a class is selected.
- In the Add course pop-up, click the Select a course dropdown.
- Choose the extra subject you want to add to the class. Only subjects your school is subscribed to will appear here.
- Click Add course to confirm.
The class now shows both subjects in the Subject column, with a small "+1" next to the original subject name. Hover over it to see the extra subject that's been added.
⚠️ Note: Adding a subject this way gives the whole class access to it — every student and teacher already on that class will see the new subject too. Double-check you've selected the right class before confirming.
Adding a subject to more than one class at once
If several classes need the same extra subject — for example, all your advanced Year 9 Mathematics classes — tick the checkbox next to each class first, then click Add Course. The pop-up will confirm how many classes you're adding the course to, and the same subject will be added to all of them in one go.
