You need help fixing the errors shown after uploading your Edrolo CSV Template.
The Review Data page
Take your time with this! It requires diligence, attention to detail, and patience.
Once you upload your timetable and click Confirm, the system checks your file. If there are any errors your will see a Review Data page with 4 tabs along the top:
- Data errors
- Column errors
- Warnings
- Missing classes
Each tab shows a count of how many errors there are, so you can see straight away where the problem is.
Note: You must address any errors before proceeding, but warnings are not roadblocks. Warnings will list issues that may prevent teacher or student accounts from being created, but it will not roadblock you from proceeding with your upload.
Correcting data and column errors
For each error, Edrolo shows:
- The row number in your timetable
- The specific error
- Why it’s important to fix
- How to fix it.
Note: It is important that you do not change the column order or headers in the template.
Common data errors and how to fix them
| Error | Fix |
|---|---|
| Student or teacher emails used by multiple users | Ensure that each user in the timetable has a unique email address |
| Invalid email format | Correct the email address to ensure it follows the correct email format |
| Keep an eye out for spaces or uncommon special characters | |
| Missing email | Student Email is required for 2027. Add an email address for every student |
| Student or teacher codes used by multiple users | Ensure that each user in the timetable has a unique code |
| Inconsistent metadata | Ensure all rows for a class share the same Course Code, Course Name, and Class Year Level |
| Year level | Each student must have a year level between 0-13 |
Note: Every student and teacher needs one unique code and one unique email each. If a code or email is shared between two users in the timetable, Edrolo can't tell their accounts apart, so it flags this before you can continue.
Fixing errors in the data file
- Open your timetable file and correct each flagged row using the guidance shown on the Review Data page.
- Save your corrected file.
- Drag the corrected file into the ‘Drop CSV file here’ area or click to browse and select your file.
- The system will automatically process this updated file and either show any further errors that need correcting or take you to the validation page if the timetable file passes.
Note: You can't fix rows directly on the Review Data page - corrections always need to be made in your CSV file first, then re-uploaded.
Once your file passes validation
- After re-uploading, check for the green Validation passed message confirming your file has been validated and showing how many rows are ready for processing.
- Click Confirm to finish the upload.
