Set up a Compass Integration in Admin Hub

A Compass integration is now available to be set up from your school's Admin Hub. This integration will connect your school’s Compass timetable data to sync directly with Edrolo's enrolment management system. Doing so will ensure that your classes and enrolments stay up to date without the need for a manual process. This means better data security, faster updates, and fewer errors.

What you’ll need

  • Your school’s Compass URL (Eg. yourschool.compass.education)
  • A Compass API key provisioned for Edrolo access to timetable and user endpoints. 
    • The key must be requested from Compass Support (support@compass.education) by your school. 
    • Schools cannot generate keys themselves. Edrolo is also unable to generate the key.
  • Your Edrolo account, with Admin Hub Administrator access enabled. Please reach out to your school's Edrolo co-ordinator or the Edrolo team if this needs to be organised.

Steps in Admin Hub

Important: Enabling Compass will deactivate any existing timetable integration for your school (eg LISS or Wonde) and make Compass the active data source. You can change integrations later from the Integrations page if needed.

  1. Open Admin Hub → Browse Integrations → Compass → Connect
  2. Read and understand the Compass API setup page. Click 'Continue to setup' to proceed
  3. Enter your Compass URL and your Compass API key, provided to you by Compass Support.

  4. Review the on‑screen 'Requirements and Instructions' and click Save configuration details
  5. Click Test connection
    • The Edrolo system will validate the API key and connectivity
  6. Enable integration
    • Confirm that Compass will become your active timetable source and that existing integrations will be deactivated
  7. First sync and mapping
    • After enabling, Admin Hub will automatically run an initial data sync which may take 24 hours to come through to Edrolo. 
    • After this sync, class mapping may need to be completed again. 

After it’s enabled

  • The initial sync can take up to 24 hours to be received in the Edrolo system. Please reach out to the Edrolo team (help@edrolo.com) so we monitor for the sync. 
  • Edrolo will use Compass as the source of truth for all your classes and enrolments. Syncs will run automatically; you can see last sync status in Admin Hub anytime. 
  • If your school had another integration previously such as LISS or Wonde, it is switched off automatically once Compass is enabled.

Troubleshooting

  • Invalid key or connection failed
    • Confirm the Compass portal URL and that the key is correct and active
    • If needed, ask Compass Support directly to re‑issue the key
  • Partial data or unexpected classes
    • Verify that all classes are correctly set up in your Compass system
    • Ensure student enrolments are up-to-date and accurate
    • Check that teacher assignments to classes are correct
    • Make sure class naming conventions are consistent
