Once you have sent a task, you can view student progress in real time from the live engagement view.
Opening the live view
From your Tasks page, click on any open or closed task to open the live engagement view.
Understanding the engagement overview
At the top of the page, you'll see a live count of students broken into three states:
- Completed students who have completed and submitted the task
- In-progress students who have opened it but not yet submitted
- Not started students who haven't opened the task yet
These numbers update automatically as students work. You don't need to refresh the page.
The results grid
Below the overview, the results grid shows every student individually. For each student you can see:
- Their current status (not started, in progress, or submitted)
- Their progress through the task
- Their score
Anonymising student names
If you're displaying the results on a screen in front of the class, you can turn on Anonymise student names to hide names from view. Toggle it off again to restore them.
Frequently asked questions
- Do I need to refresh to see updates? No. The live view updates automatically as students open, progress through, and submit the task.
- What does it show for a student who hasn't started? Their score shows as rather than 0%, so it's clear they haven't attempted it yet.
- Can I see how each student answered individual questions? Yes. Click on any student in the results grid to open their full question-by-question breakdown.
