Set up Compass Integration in Admin Hub

Compass is a school management system that can allow your to connect your school’s Compass timetable data to Edrolo. Doing so will ensure that your classes and enrolments stay up to date automatically.

  • Go to Admin Hub → Integrations → Compass → Settings
  • Enter your Compass URL and paste the API key direct from Compass Support
  • Test connection → Enable integration
  • Enabling Compass will deactivate any existing timetable integration
  • After enabling, the first sync runs and you can map classes if needed

How you can do this

  • Our Compass integration is now available in Admin Hub under Integrations.
  • You need a Compass API key. The key is requested from Compass Support by your school or coordinated via Edrolo communications. Schools cannot generate keys themselves.

Important: Enabling Compass will deactivate any existing timetable integration for your school (eg LISS or Wonde) and make Compass the active data source. You can change integrations later from the Integrations page if needed.

What you’ll need

  • Your school’s Compass URL, e.g. yourschool.compass.education
  • A Compass API key provisioned for Edrolo access to timetable and user endpoints
  • An Admin Hub administrator account for your school

Steps in Admin Hub

  1. Open Admin Hub → Integrations
  2. Enter your Compass URL
  3. Paste your Compass API key
  • Keys are created by Compass on request for your school
  1. Review the on‑screen requirements and click Save configuration details
  2. Click Test connection
  • We validate the API key and connectivity
  1. Enable integration
  • Confirm that Compass will become your active timetable source and that existing integrations will be deactivated
  1. First sync and mapping
  • After enabling, Admin Hub will run an initial data sync and guide you to class mapping if required

After it’s enabled

  • Edrolo will use Compass as the source of truth for all your classes and enrolments
  • Syncs will run automatically; you can see last sync status in Admin Hub anytime
  • If your school had another integration previously such as LISS or Wonde, it is switched off once Compass is enabled

Troubleshooting

  • Invalid key or connection failed
    • Confirm the Compass portal URL and that the key is correct and active
    • If needed, ask Compass directly to re‑issue the key
  • Partial data or unexpected classes

    • Verify that all classes are correctly set up in your Compass system
    • Ensure student enrolments are up-to-date and accurate
    • Check that teacher assignments to classes are correct
    • Make sure class naming conventions are consistent

    After validating your Compass data, you can proceed with the integration and then "Complete class mapping in Admin Hub if prompted, then wait for the next automatic sync cycle to refresh data".
