The Markbook gives you one place to see your class's results across every Edrolo assessment in a course, such as progress checks and topic tests, side by side. There is one Markbook for each class and subject you teach.
The Markbook shows marks that already exist: marks given by you, by Edrolo's AI marking in courses where it is available, by students self-marking their short answers, and by the answer key on multiple-choice questions. You read the results and decide what to do next. To understand the scores themselves, see [link: Understanding scores in the Markbook].
How to open the Markbook
You can open the Markbook in two ways.
From your class
- Open one of your classes, from View Class on the class card on your homepage or Classes in the left-hand menu.
- Select the Markbook tab at the top of the class page.

From Assessments
- Select Assessments in the left-hand menu, then select a subject.
- Under Class markbooks at the top of the page, select the class you want.
Access the Markbook via Assessments page
Either way, a class appears once it has an Edrolo course linked to it.
The Markbook opens for that class and subject: one row per student, one column per assessment, grouped by topic, with a class average row and a legend explaining the symbols.
The Markbook for one class and subject
Every published assessment in the course appears as a column, including any your class has not sat. Those cells simply show "–".
To move to another subject the class studies, use the subject menu in the top right. To move to another of your classes, select the class name in the top left and choose another class.

Sort the grid
Select any column header to sort the class by that assessment, or sort by student name. Students without a score for that assessment sit at the bottom either way.

Share a view with a colleague
Your sort and filter are kept in the page address. Copy the address from your browser and send it to a colleague: if they also teach or supervise the class, the Markbook opens for them with the same view. The link does not give access to anyone outside the class.
Hide student names before presenting
Before projecting the Markbook or sharing your screen, open the Class actions menu (the three dots in the top right) and select Anonymise student names. Every name in the grid is replaced. To switch back, select Show student names in the same menu.

This setting is remembered in your browser, but it is not carried in a shared link. A colleague opening your link will see names unless they switch it on too.
