The new Student Home is built for clarity and speed. If you have any questions about how tasks, resume, or your progress signals work, check these common questions first.
Tasks and Assignments:
1. Which tasks show up on my Student Home?
The Student Home displays tasks assigned by your teacher that are due within 7 days or up to 7 days overdue.
2. How are tasks ordered in the list?
Tasks are ordered by their due date, ascending (meaning the soonest is at the top). Tasks without a due date are shown last.
3. Why is a task I know I have not showing up?
You can always see all your tasks by navigating to the main Tasks page, if a task is missing from your list, check these things:
- Confirm the task is within the due window (due within 7 days or up to 7 days overdue).
- Check that the task is not closed or already completed.
- Verify that you are enrolled in the subject the task belongs to.
Resume and Navigation:
4. What does the "Continue" (Resume) button do?
The "Continue" button sends you back to the most recent learning point in that specific subject.
5. How does it decide where to send me?
The system uses specific rules to choose where you land:
- It prioritises the most recent activity that included question responses (like question sets or tasks).
- If there are no recent questions, it defaults to the latest video timestamp you watched.
- If you have no history in the subject, it gives you a sensible start point.
Progress and Metrics:
6. What do the weekly signals measure?
The Student Home shows a lightweight set of metrics designed to encourage momentum:
- Questions metric: sum of questions answered across video lessons, questions sets, tasks and assessments.
- Videos viewed: Counts video chunks you have visited.
- Time spent: Shows how much time you have spent actively studying on the Edrolo platform.
7. When do these metrics reset?
Most weekly metrics (Questions, Videos viewed, Time spent) reset weekly on Monday at 00:00.
8. How is the Tasks streak calculated?
The Task streak counts teacher-created tasks (excluding spaced retrieval tasks) that you completed by their due time. The streak runs continuously until you miss a task deadline. Your "Best streak" stores the highest streak achieved during the academic year.
