How to use your new Student Home (step-by-step)

The Student Home is designed to minimise searching and maximise learning. Use this guide to quickly find tasks, resume lessons, and track your weekly effort.

1. Check Your Upcoming Tasks

The Upcoming tasks list is your go-to place for all work assigned by your teacher, due soon, or recently overdue.

  • Find my next assignment: Find the Upcoming tasks list on the right side of the Student Home page.
  • Check the status: Each task is clearly labelled with its status and progress, such as Overdue or Due tomorrow.
  • Start the task: Click on the task title (e.g., Health quiz) or the arrow (—>) to go directly to the Task Overview page.
  • Know what is shown: This list only shows tasks due within the next 7 days or up to 7 days overdue. If you can't find a task, check the main Tasks page.

2. Continue Learning Where You Left Off

The Resume action on each subject card gets you back into the content in one click.

  • Resume a subject: Locate the subject card (e.g., VCE Business Management...) you want to continue in the main body of the page and click Resume.
  • Start a new subject: If you haven't started a subject yet, the card will display the first lesson and prompt you to Start your first lesson.
  • What happens when I click 'Continue'? Clicking the lesson title (e.g., 2A Protein structure and function) sends you to the most relevant learning point.

3. Track Your Weekly Study Momentum

The metrics at the top of your Student Home are simple weekly signals to help you track your study habits.

  • Questions: The total number of questions you have answered (including those in question sets and tasks)
  • Videos viewed: The number of video 'chunks' you have visited
  • Time spent: The total amount of time you have spent on the platform
  • Tasks streak: The number of teacher-created tasks you have completed on time
