Understanding Accuracy in Teacher Homepage

The Accuracy feature on Teacher Homepage is designed to give teachers a quick, clear view of students' performance.

It shows the average mark your class achieved across auto-marked practice questions, helping you spot how well students are mastering key concepts at a glance.

What Can be seen in Accuracy?

  • Class-Level Accuracy: A single percentage that reflects your class's overall performance, complete with helpful info-tips explaining how the number is calculated
  • Comparison Benchmarks: See how your class stacks up, Accuracy is compared against school average, similar schools, and state average

How Is Accuracy Calculated?

The Accuracy percentage is calculated based on all auto-marked questions completed by your class using a straightforward formula: Total marks achieved ÷ Total marks available × 100

  • It only includes questions with definitive right/wrong answers (e.g., multiple choice, true/false). Open-ended responses are not included in this calculation.
  • Accuracy updates when students complete new practice questions and exam questions. This update currently happens every 24 hours.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions

1. Can I see a breakdown of accuracy per topic, lesson, or student?

Not yet, but it’s on the way! Later, you'll be able to drill down into accuracy by topic, lesson, or individual student for much deeper insights into learning gaps and strengths.
In the meanwhile feel free to reach out to your Customer Success Manager any time. They are ready to share more about our data roadmap and how these features will make analysis even easier for you!

2. How are 'similar schools' defined?

Similar schools are defined using the ICSEA (Index of Community Socio-Educational Advantage). Your school is grouped with others that have a similar ICSEA score, and the Accuracy comparison is made against that specific cohort.

3. Why isn't my class accuracy appearing yet?

To ensure the data we provide is meaningful and representative of your whole class, accuracy figures are displayed once a small "momentum milestone" is reached! You’ll see your data light up as soon as at least 15% of your students have completed at least 10 questions each. This helps make sure the insights you're seeing are reliable and ready to use for your lesson planning.
